i Story

The Iran born Melody,

Started from an early age observing the world and writing down her stories.

That was her passion!

When she was 15, she and her family were forced to leave Iran and came to the Netherlands.

From then she had to start her life over……

She still had the passion to write, but there were no words that she new in Dutch…

"Where the words disappear, the images and emotions are the only way to communicate." Melody said.

So she decided to continue to write...

Although not in words, but in the language of images.

Her ability to communicate through images began to continually develop…

In 2003 she began to study (Fashion)Design at HKU.

It soon appeared that she had a unique creativity and an outstanding point of view.

She effortlessly started to weave fashion with an intellectual content.

Her goal is communication of her observations.

.....Sometimes in the language of images, sometimes in words.

She works alongside fashion with many other disciplines in the arts.

(such as; Writings, Illustrations, Photography, Installations, Performances)

Her groundbreaking and different look at the fashion design landscape, was even during her study, debate subject in many International Newspapers.

(double page interview in De Morgen (bl), Surface (NYC), Elle (nl), Journal du Textile (fr) etc.)

Finally in 2008, she graduated with honour. Many prizes and encouragement followed.
For the first time in 25 years won a fashion design student the Piet Bakker price, especially known as an art prize.

Working alongside fashion with many other disciplines in the arts.

(Writings, Illustrations, Photography, Installations, Performances, etc.)

In 2010 the famous trend watcher Lidewij Edelkoort, named Melody,

one of the International creative stars of the future.

And in 2009 she was selected from 600 talents worldwide, to participate in the prestigious Festival de Hyeres in southern France.

This contributed to an international recognition…

The leading Belgian newspaper "De Morgen" called her in 2010 in a two page counted interview, an Inspiring Personality.

Collaborations soon followed by many, including the Central Museum in Utrecht, Groningen Museum, Design House Eindhoven and Hussein Chalayan.

In 2011, she collaborated with the Dutch national hero

Dick Bruna (Miffy children books).

In 2011, at the request of the mayor of Utrecht Alei Wolfsen,

took her first solo exhibition place in the City Hall of Utrecht, the city where she lives and works.

In October 2011, she accepted the invitation of the Director of Central Museum Utrecht, Edwin Jacobs, and participated in a public interview.

Edwin Jacobs called her an inspiring creative mind with a whole new theoretical perspective on Fashion Design landscape.

Her greatest talent is

an intellectual mindset, authentic creativity, imagination and the ability to observe the World/ Society/People/Objects,

from an entirely new dimension.

All resulting in trendsetting and inspirational (commercial and non commercial) Concepts, Images and Columns.
